QuietComfort 45 headphones are deliberately simple to use and have tactile controls. They join the QC Earbuds and Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 in the Bose noise-cancelling product range. The QC45 will be available in Triple Black and White Smoke colorways, both with a matte finish. The new QC45 are said to be durable, lightweight, and can fold flat to store them in the supplied compact carrying case. The Bose comfort and stability have been retained while the pleats and puckers have been removed from soft materials and joins between components have been replaced with smooth transitions. The QC45 builds on the looks of its predecessor, keeping all the design elements that made the old QC35 II such an instantly identifiable product. Bose started last Fall trying to figure out the commonalities for the now 'infamous' QC35i power on problems and last I heard they are still trying to figure out the why some do and some don't (or they have figured it out and we just haven't heard about it yet ).The Bose QC45 are available in Triple Black and White Smoke colorways. Even if Bose were to agree there is a problem, they will likely go through a process to try to figure out why some QC35ii have the issue and others do not.

First of all, Bose still contends here that the last two firmware versions made no change to ANC (though people here reported the issue as soon as the newer QC35ii's (AE) came out the firmware updated for all of themĢ.

For example, I have an "AE" and I DO NOT have the problem (my low and high are significantly different).
#BOSE QC35 FIRMWARE UPGRADE SERIAL#
From my readings here it seems most (if not all) of the "AZ"s have the problem but only some portion of the "AE"s seem to (that is the last two letters of the serial number). Once you have upgraded to the current firmware, you can't go back.Īlso, not all the QC35ii's here seem to have the issue. So has there been direct noise cancellation changes or Bose discontinued the ability to regress last year. The ANC is indeed slightly worse by about 4dB in the bass and mid ranges.

Ohhh : After multiple online reports of the ANC being worse after the 4.5.2 software update, we retested our unit. You can find more information on this HERE. Unplug the USB cord from the headset and wait 1 minuteįirmware downgrades for our products are not supported at this time.Plug the headset into a wall outlet using a USB charger, then wait 5 seconds.Adjusting the levels of ANC is easy with the action button and Bose provides firmware. Turn off the headset and wait 30 seconds Summary The Bose QC35 Series II headphones are fantastic It definitely lives up to all the hype & rave reviews and delivers great sound, dynamic range, awesome bass, and truly astounding active noise cancellation.I also recommend performing a reset on your headphones.
#BOSE QC35 FIRMWARE UPGRADE HOW TO#
You can find a guide on how to fully install the cushions for the QuietComfort 35 headphones HERE. I also recommend ensuring that the cushions are securely seated to the headphones. If the ear cushion is not affixed to the ear cup properly the noise reduction or sound quality may be affected. Remove any of these items and retest the noise canceling feature. To maximize the efficiency of ANC, ensure that the earcups are seated tightly around the head. Glasses, earrings, and hats may cause the headphone cushion to not form a tight seal around the ear. While there have been no direct noise cancellation changes, I'd love to suggest some troubleshooting suggestions to try and resolve the issues you're currently experiencing.
